3/12/2024 0 Comments Silent hunter iii map![]() ![]() I think SH5 represented Ubisoft trying to make a "mass market" sim, and just failing miserably in the process as they wound up focusing way too much on the bells and whistles and not enough on the core mechanics. ![]() I remember there were some significant ones back then that actually wound up losing money, and a lot of the big series wound up dying as a result. Meanwhile, relatively low profit potential given the niche audience. Huge development costs given how technical they are, and those costs kept getting higher as the realism expectations increased. Mid 90's to early 2000's the game industry decided sims just weren't sufficiently profitable anymore. Such a bummer how great titles rarely have follow on games that do them justice.
